Benefits management

This guidance has been developed to support forces and associated organisations in understanding and applying benefits management principles in a policing context. It will:

  • outline the steps that police forces and associated organisations should take to capture and report on benefits when implementing organisational or operational change
  • standardise the language used in police benefits identification and management
  • signpost users to relevant resources, frameworks and supporting guidance

It is written for police officers and staff who work in any operational and organisational change context, including:

  • organisational change units
  • information technology implementation teams
  • operational leaders driving transformation
  • those responsible for reporting on savings and efficiencies
  • senior responsible officers
  • project managers
  • business owners

This guidance has been written in conjunction with the following guides, but it is not intended to replace them.
