Who we are
- The College of Policing is a professional body for everyone working across policing. It is an operationally independent non-departmental public body.
- We exist to support everyone in policing to deliver the best service to the public through high-quality leadership, consistent standards and continual performance improvement.
- Our ambition is for all communities to feel protected, respected and represented by the police service.
What we do
Leadership
We build the capability of leaders across all levels of the workforce to set the right culture, drive innovation and improve performance.
Standards
We set standards for important areas of policing which help forces and individuals provide consistency and better service for the public.
Performance
We create and maintain easy access to knowledge, disseminate good practice and identify, share and embed what works.
Our people
About 800 people work for the College of Policing across England and Wales. This includes seconded officers and staff from forces. We also have a network of associates that partner with us as trainers, coaches, assessors, designers and expert witnesses.
We are led by an executive board and board of directors, who set our strategic direction and values.
Our strategies and plans
Only through high-quality leadership, consistent standards and continual performance improvement can everyone in policing reach their full potential. Our corporate strategy details our mission and vision that guides our work with individuals, forces and partners.
