We're holding several online events during Black History Month 2023.
Black History Month recognises and celebrates the invaluable contributions of black people to British society. It also serves as an opportunity to inspire and empower future generations.
This year, Black History Month is dedicated to honouring the achievements of black women with the theme 'Saluting our Sisters'.

Supporting our sisters – Friday 6 October, 10am to 11am
Natasha Harris discusses the types of issues black women can face in the workplace, and highlights positive experiences that colleagues and managers can learn from.
Voices of black women: what is it like to work in policing? – Friday 13 October, 2pm to 3pm
Natasha Harris talks with a panel about the lived experiences of black women and where we need to focus our attention in future.
Achievements of black women in policing – Friday 20 October, 10am to 11am
Natasha Harris talks with a panel about black women’s personal and professional achievements, inside and outside of policing.
Authenticity in uniform: your path to unwavering resilience – Friday 26 October, 2pm to 3pm
'Resilience Jedi' Daksha Patel explores how to align your true self with the demands of your uniformed role.
Resilience doesn’t come solely from external factors or a tough exterior, but is rooted in a deep sense of self-awareness and authenticity. When you can reconcile your personal values, beliefs and identity with the responsibilities and challenges that come with your uniformed role, you’re more likely to develop unwavering resilience.
