Latest changes to APP

Overview of the latest changes to APP.

APP is subject to review (either scheduled or triggered) in consultation with the relevant National Policing Business Area. All amendments go through a review process and further information is available from contactus@college.police.uk

More detailed changes to APP content may be recorded separately by the the APP team. If you require a copy of APP as it was on a particular date (for example, for an enquiry) please email contactcentre@college.police.uk. All requests must be approved by the relevant Policing Standards Manager.

Edited the section on Local safeguarding children boards. Changed the section title to local safeguarding children partnerships - with new links.

Added an extra paragraph to the Prisoner escort and custody service section to reflect amendments changes due to the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022

Detention and custody Response, arrest and detention

New paragraph added to the section on Persons attending a police station voluntarily who are not arrested to reflect the changes to the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.

Civil emergencies > Disaster victim identification DVI roles and responsibilities

Senior identification manager (SIM) initial actions updated with College logo.

Roads policing Investigation of fatal and serious injury road collisions

Updated link to new National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) National Roads Policing Strategy (2022-2025).

Roads policing Roads policing - Guidance overview

Updated NPCC strategy document added.

Major investigation and public protection > Missing persons Specific investigations

Replaced broken link for the NPCC missing persons tasking and transfer request form, under 'Ownership and responsibility for cases'.

Covert policing Assisting offender debriefing

Updated to reflect legislation changes (Sentencing Act 2020)

Civil emergencies > Disaster victim identification Inquests and inquiries

Removed the link to Jones, J. KBE (2017) from Judicial inquiries and moved it to the Overview page for disaster victim identification .

 

Investigation Acid and corrosive substances

Added link to the Home Office (2022) statutory guidance: Offensive Weapons Act 2019, part 1.
