This research examines the following key question:

  • what role should evidence-based policing have in informing the design and implementation of inspection regimes in UK policing? 

Research methodology

The research will be mixed methods, involving semi-structured interviews and extensive literature reviews to support the design of a maturity matrix to understand the extent to which existing inspection and assurance processes are underpinned by high quality evidence.
