Research context

The aim of this research is to investigate the attitudes of current police officers and police staff towards police higher education. In particular, it will explore the hypothesis that the police workforce does not see the benefit in higher-level police education. This is particularly relevant since the introduction of the PEQF and subsequent alternative non-degree entry routes.

The intention is to replicate previous research with the general public and invite comparison between the views of the general public and the police workforce.

Research methodology

The research will be conducted via a questionnaire sent to the workforce of a police force in the south-east of England.
