How we can support journalists

The College of Policing is the professional body for the police service. We exist to support officers, staff and volunteers to deliver the best service to the public.

We focus on enhancing leadership capability, ensuring the highest standards and elevating performance.

We can support journalists with information, quotes and interviews in areas including:

  • Police leadership across all roles and ranks
  • Training for new recruits
  • Neighbourhood policing and neighbourhood crimes like anti-social behaviour and shoplifting
  • Public protection including violence against women and girls
  • Misconduct in policing, the College’s barred list and our Code of Ethics
  • How police officers make decisions using our national decision model
  • Vetting of police officers
  • Research, evidence and data from the What Works Centre for Crime Reduction
  • How we aim to free up 38 million police officer hours by improving productivity
  • The wellbeing of officers, staff and volunteers through our National Police Wellbeing Service

We are unable to provide details or information about specific investigations. You should contact the press office of the police force responding.

You can find our latest news on our news page, LinkedIn, X and Facebook.
