Leadership standards and development for inspectors, chief inspectors and staff working at or towards this stage.
Mid-level leaders curriculum
Stage three of the police leadership programme is aimed at sergeants, police staff and volunteers who aspire to positions that involve leading multiple and diverse teams. It may also be relevant to you if you're an existing inspector, chief inspector or member of police staff in a mid-level leadership role, and you want to develop skills and knowledge in your current role.
You'll learn how to:
- develop and embed an inclusive culture at work that values diversity
- supervise and monitor team performance
- lead, implement and manage organisational change
- encourage and contribute to a coaching and mentoring culture
- develop successful collaborative partnerships
The curriculum is delivered by police forces across England and Wales, supported by the College of Policing, to provide leadership training and development to a consistent national standard. It provides the learning outcomes and minimum programme content that's needed for officers, staff and volunteers to meet the national police leadership standards.
