Public protection and safeguarding leadership programme launched

Senior police leaders can now advance their careers in one of policing's most critical areas through the public protection and safeguarding leadership programme (PPSLP).
Delivered by the College of Policing in collaboration with the National Centre for Violence Against Women and Girls and Public Protection (NCVPP) this advanced course is designed to:
- sharpen strategic thinking
- strengthen leadership
- equip you with the skills needed to lead high-performing teams in today’s rapidly evolving policing environment
Forces across the country already have dedicated, high performing and passionate leaders within public protection teams. It’s important that they are properly equipped to do what becomes a more complex job with every day. I’d encourage any senior leader working in public protection, or who is looking to move to this area of policing, to take up this opportunity.”
Assistant Chief Constable Claire Bell, Deputy Director at the NCVPP
With the government's ambitious mission to halve violence against women and girls offences within a decade, expertise in public protection leadership has never been more valuable. The PPSLP positions you, your team and your force at the forefront of this national priority.
The PPSLP also directly supports our national priority to professionalise public protection by advancing stronger safeguarding investigations at both technical and leadership levels. This programme will be instrumental in addressing the resource deficit in public protection and ensuring better outcomes for victims and communities.

The PPSLP has been specifically developed for leaders including area/basic command unit commanders, heads of public protection and other senior public protection leaders.
We welcome both staff and officers to apply.
