Keeping you connected to career development and learning 24/7
Opportunities for learning never stop and neither does our support for policing. Our resources are available to you when and where you want them to help with your continuing professional development (CPD) throughout your career.
You're reading this article on our new user-focused, accessible and mobile-friendly website – which is continuing to be developed with more content added each day. It has been designed to help you to easily get to the information you need.
We have launched Going equipped – a new publication that shares experience, learning and practice across the policing family. It focuses on the many officers and staff who are undertaking research, discovering what works in policing or to share ideas, reflection and examples of good practice. Reading Going equipped is an example of CPD, while preparing an article on your research or effective practice is good evidence of CPD.
There are also a range of great learning opportunities that are available at times to suit your needs, whether that’s to find out information about what is on offer as part of the National Policing Curriculum or using a College Learn (you'll need to log in to this) training package to support your development.
Alternatively, you may be looking to share your experience or to find out specific information about an area of policing that involves speaking to someone from that community. In which case, the Knowledge Hub (you'll need to log in to this) has a range of specialist communities to help you find what you are looking for.
If you are revising for a course or an exam, or seeking research to develop an evidence-based policing intervention, the National Policing Library has online resources to help you.
Most importantly, all of our resources are accessible 24 hours a day seven days a week to support you in all areas of your development. CPD is an ongoing activity and we hope that our week-long CPD in focus event has developed your understanding of what continuing professional development is and helped you to find resources to support your journey through policing – whether you are just starting out or already well underway.
