The evidence-based policing (EBP) maturity model is a self-assessment tool. It can be used to assess how well your force is integrating EBP.
The tool can help your force to:
- identify the activities and behaviours that need to be developed
- embed EBP into everyday policing practice
- track and review progress
The model uses a numbered ranking system to assess the maturity of evidence across four areas – culture, capability, structure and strategy. It supports forces in progressing towards the National Police Chiefs' Council's (NPCC) Policing Vision 2025.
