Testing and quality assurance

Quality assurance methods for the counter terrorism protective security plan.

Counter terrorism security coordination

Counter terrorism (CT) security coordinators may use quality assurance methods during the development of the CT protective security plan, or in preparation for an event or operation.

Methods for testing and quality assuring assumptions, plans and policies before large scale events include:

  • Hydra Minerva training
  • table-top exercises (TTXs)
  • peer review

The decision to use TTX or training sits with police strategic or tactical commanders. Where possible, the CT security coordinator may use TTXs, peer reviews and command reviews completed by an individual separate to the event or operation to provide a neutral perspective.
