Community policing profiles

Supporting police officers and staff to understand the requirements of community policing roles.

First published

We're moving the policing professional profiles (PPP) to the College website. While this takes place, some roles from the PPP are only available on College Learn.

College Learn can only be accessed by those who work in policing as it requires you to log in. If you do not work in policing and want to view a role, please email: professionaldevelopment@college.police.uk.

If you have any other queries or would like to give any feedback about the PPP, please email: professionaldevelopment@college.police.uk.

Purpose

The community policing profiles include information about the responsibilities, behaviours, qualifications, skills and experience for roles in:

  • crime reduction
  • local policing
  • response policing
  • roads policing

Exploring the community policing profiles

To help to map out progression routes, we've organised the roles in the community policing profiles into five levels.

1. Service deliverer roles

2. Team leader or technical lead roles

3. Manager or expert adviser roles

4. Service function lead roles

5. Force leader roles
