Aims
This programme provides learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills to lead teams of investigators.
Objectives
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- apply relevant guidance, legislation, policy and authorised professional practice (APP) to serious and complex investigations
- engage in a supervisory role, ensuring accurate and effective investigative plans, recording and engagement with appropriate specialists during serious and complex investigations
- develop investigative strategies, including disclosure of material (used and unused) to support investigations using appropriate specialist support, as applicable
- carry out the supervisory role in relation to investigations, including public protection investigations, hate crimes, threats to life, high-risk offenders and sex and violent offenders
