Lead responsible officers (LROs) who are responsible for coordinating the tactical response to serious and organised crime (SOC) in their local area can now access a new e-learning module on College Learn.

Learning aims

The digital learning is designed to enhance capabilities and equip LROs with the knowledge and practical tools they need to tackle SOC more effectively.

It outlines key roles, responsibilities and relationships involved in managing SOC, ensuring officers understand how different agencies work together.

During the module officers will:

  • learn the definitions of SOC
  • explore various threat types
  • understand the broader consequences of these threats
  • use methods and assessment tools to identify SOC threats
  • recognise and analyse risks more effectively

By strengthening the capabilities of those coordinating local responses to SOC, the learning contributes to more effective protection of communities across the country, keeping people safe and increasing public confidence.
