Equality and diversity

Our commitment to equality and diversity policies.

We are committed to putting diversity, equality and inclusion at the heart of our policies to attract, retain and motivate our staff. We want our staff to enjoy equality of opportunity regardless of rank, grade and specialism.

We've worked with the National Police Chiefs' Council on the national policing culture and inclusion strategy 2025 to 2030. The strategy supports the College in meeting its legal duties under the Equality Act 2010 and its obligations under the public sector equality duty.

Public sector equality duty (PSED)

The public sector equality duty came into force in 2011. In line with its requirements, we are committed to having due regard to:

  • eliminating unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation
  • advancing equality of opportunity between different groups
  • fostering good relations between different groups

Our culture and inclusion goals
